Vivaldi's Winter-6th grade Symphony in Color Competition

"Each year, more than 35,000 elementary school children throughout Indiana participate in Symphony in Color, an enrichment program offering a unique blending of two disciplines: symphonic music and visual art."

Irvington Community Middle School 6th graders participated in The Indianpolis Symphony Orchestra's 'Symphony in Color' contest this past winter. The contest was judged by The Hilbert Circle Theatre and The Indiana State Museum. 100 finalists and 36 blue ribbons were chosen out of many submissions from across Indiana.

I'm proud to say that Irvington Community Middle School is home to one blue ribbon winner, one finalist and 7 honorable mentions.

Room Interiors-8th Grade One-Point Perspective

The 8th graders began their fourth quarter by designing the interior of a room using one-point perspective.








Receding Boxes-7th One-Point Perspective

The first project of the fourth quarter had 7th graders using one-point perspective and value to show the illusion of space within a 2-dimensional medium (colored pencil on paper).

6th Grade Quilts at Dufour's Restaurant in Irvington!

During the first quarter, the 6th graders worked on a math-based turned group project that resulted in two (one for red day, one for blue day) beautiful 'Wallpaper Quilts'.

I'm proud to say that these quilts are now (and have been for a couple months) hanging in Dufour's Restaurant in Irvington on Washinton Street.
