Metal Tinning-Mexican Folk Art-7th and 8th grade
7th and 8th graders created designs that incorporated symbols from Mexico's rich culture. We looked at famous works of art from Mexican fine artists as well as folk art from unknown artisans. The students integrated patterns in the style of Mexican folk art onto metal tinning plates, therefore transforming a two-dimensional medium into a 3-dimensional finished piece.

Doodle 4 Google
ICMS 6th, 7th, and 8th graders show their skills as illustrators for Google's "Doodle4Google" contest. The project follows the theme, "If I could travel in time, I'd visit.....", which can pertain to the past, present and future. We had a lot of fun with this project. I'm so amazed by the creativity and imaginations I see every day from my students! Click to see images larger. Check this link for more information on Google's contest.
