For fourth quarter, the 6th grade Spanish and art classes worked on a cross-discipline project where the students wrote a children's book in Spanish and illustrated it in art class. In art class, the students first designed the look of their characters and practiced drawing their front and profile views. Then, they had to determine what would be the best parts of their Spanish story to illustrate. They sketched out ideas and fine tuned them. Finally, they created four illustrations and a cover page for their final book.

6th Grade Quilts at Dufour's Restaurant in Irvington!
During the first quarter, the 6th graders worked on a math-based turned group project that resulted in two (one for red day, one for blue day) beautiful 'Wallpaper Quilts'.
I'm proud to say that these quilts are now (and have been for a couple months) hanging in Dufour's Restaurant in Irvington on Washinton Street.
